Welcome to Busy Heart!
I’m Deja Earley, author of To the Mormon Newlyweds Who Thought the Bellybutton Was Somehow Involved–a collection of poetry, published by Signature Books.
I’m mother to a fabulously imaginative daughter named Henrietta Plum, and wife to the writer, Sam Ruddick. We live with in Auburn, Alabama with far too many cats.
In addition to writing and momming/wife-ing, I’m a sassy (and active) Mormon; I teach for VIPKID, sell gorgeous Amelia James clothes in a delightful Facebook Group and community, volunteer at my local library, make and sell quirky collages, and generally craft hard whenever I get the chance.
I believe in the meaning and power of poetry, of art, of taking walks, and eating beautiful food. I believe in wearing lovely clothes and loving our bodies at whatever size we are. I believe in making our daily lives as creative as they can be. I find so much joy in all of these things, and I’m delighted to have a venue to share them with you!
If you’re interested in scheduling a reading, in purchasing a signed copy of my book, in commissioning a collage or hearing more about Amelia James or VIPKID, please let me know by using the contact form, leaving a comment, or finding me on Facebook or Instagram. I would love to hear from you in any way you’d like to get in touch!
I’m so glad you’re here. Please stay and say hello.
